Electrical systems integration and validation, approve device transmittals, develop vehicle‑level logical schematics, conduct design/compatibility reviews, support system‑level validation/diagnostics, provide technical support for prototype and pre‑production builds. Responsibilities
- Develop vehicle‑level logical schematics
- Set up DT structure in VSEM‑GDT and approve that structure
- Ensure the Generic Fusing and Generic Grounding strategies are followed
- Execute compatibility reviews and assess Systems FMEA
- Assess and comply with related system requirements (FEDE)
- Coordinate TDR preparation, follow up with technical specialists at gateways, and track tasks via JIRA Proto Build (DCV)
- HIL/FDJ breadboard and DCV breadboard (E/E pre‑build system breadboard)
- Provide configurations only and give extraordinary support if needed
- Determine feature configuration of the breadboard (variants)
- Check BOM to ensure parts are present on the breadboard
- Configure modules (FCT – Ford Converter Tool or EOL simulation)
- Update module software (get SW from IVS or JFrog)
- Perform quick, point‑to‑point functional testing
- VEV DV breadboard (DCV signoff)
- Provide module configurations (VSCS development)
- Support troubleshooting and maintain BOM, SW, and issue tracing
- Run self‑test and collect bus queries (part number, configuration, DTCs, etc.) Pre‑Production Builds
- Support Module Software Readiness Document and use SWBOM to track software revisions
- Support EOL‑VSCS testing (DSC/APTL testing)
- Identify system differences from DCV to TT and update test vehicles
- Update software in modules (via SWCM/IVS or JFrog)
- Troubleshoot issues from EOL testing
- Support replacement of modules in vehicle with "virgin‑ized" modules
- At the plant: EOL troubleshooting, support DTC masking and CBT, handle functional issue troubleshooting/triage, and support extraordinary actions as needed
- Support PMT/TPP with on‑site mods (software + config with Movimento)
- Support VOCF and DTC tracking (VE/Prog Mgm’t lead)
- Support triage of issues (D&R; lead) and support extraordinary actions, SW updates of fleet, and coordinate flash parties as required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science
- 3+ years of automotive experience in wiring and/or systems
- 1+ year of proficiency in root‑cause analysis and authoring well‑documented 8D’s
- Independent worker capable of delivering multiple project commitments concurrently
- Strong customer focus and excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Broad interpersonal skills allowing a wide range of interface with vehicle product development, subsystem engineers, cross‑functional teams, and suppliers
