Application Design Senior Engineer – Automation Location: Apodaca, Nuevo León Design and develop electrical systems and communication systems for Schneider North America, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and codes. Provide complex technical solutions for automated production lines. Responsibilities Design electrical systems and/or communications systems that meet applicable standards & codes. Create electrical engineering drawings for new projects and update existing drawings as needed, communicating changes to stakeholders. Perform electrical calculations to size devices and conductors correctly. Confirm system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods. Suggest modifications to enhance quality and performance of equipment. Review designs for conformance with codes and engineering standards. Prepare technical reports, design specifications, and operational manuals. Prepare and oversee electrical power system design, including single‑line diagrams, wiring and elementary diagrams, layout, and circuitry design. Research competitor products quarterly and collaborate with product development team to generate ideas for market‑leading products. Review supplier drawings for conformance with specifications and dimensional compatibility. Work with senior and fellow engineers in NAM and abroad to develop alternatives and options for product development. Support product sourcing, purchasing and component selection as required. Collaborate with assembly teams during manufacturing, advising on design specifications and providing assistance. Set up and maintain the ECAD system, developing libraries and establishing standard components. Develop an electrical engineering standard for components and suppliers. Participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs and codes. Support installation on site of equipment, ensuring safety and quality requirements. Collaborate during commissioning and Site Acceptance Test to fulfill end‑user requirements. Provide technical support and customer service; willing to travel up to 30%. Define and deploy electrical standards to plants and equipment suppliers. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics or related field. More than 5years of experience in customized design of automatic machines. Strong knowledge of ECAD modeling, drawings and machine design, with experience in design analyses. Knowledge of applicable codes related to electrical design. Proficiency in design calculations for electrical design. Investigative mindset and practical problem‑solving skills. Exceptional time‑management and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Hands‑on and can‑do attitude. Ability to stay current with technology and engineering design trends. Willingness to take on non‑traditional tasks, roles, and responsibilities. Good understanding of safety standards and environmental impact of a design. Good communication skill and proficiency in English (oral and written). USA valid visa is desirable.
