Responsibilities Facilitate visual, dimensional, and functional inspection and testing according to documented policies and procedures. Record inspection and test data as prescribed by written instructions and procedures. Operate all associated test and measurement equipment. Implement changes to related policies, procedures, and work instructions. Process non-conformances in the Non-Conforming Material Review system. Acquire test and measurement equipment. Provide daily supervision, work direction, and on‑job training to Receiving Inspection staff. Develop and maintain a competent work group through effective hiring, communication, recognition, performance feedback, and development. Monitor, direct, and prioritize staff workload to assure internal customer schedules are met. Ensure all policies and processes are followed and monitor compliance with appropriate regulatory standards. Contribute to establishing department goals, objectives, and accountabilities. Contribute to developing and maintaining the department spending budget. Recommend, justify, and acquire measurement equipment and supplies to meet department objectives. Advise on planning for department resource needs. Support monitoring inspection procedures for effectiveness. Provide routine department status updates to management. Communicate and provide support to other departments as necessary. Motivate the team to achieve results. Foster a department culture of continuous improvement. Report quality issues immediately and co‑lead their investigation, root cause analysis, and solution. Arrange reports to communicate backlog status, accomplishments, and issues as required. Lead daily meetings with staff to discuss issues and determine future actions that impact the inspection process. Manage and report out quality metrics and make decisions regarding material disposition. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in chemical sciences or industrial engineering. Minimum 3 years of related experience. Certification in Quality Systems Management. Prior medical device experience preferred. Experience in quality technical or supervisory roles preferred. Technical writing experience preferred.
