General Company Description
KEENFINITY Group is a leading global provider of innovative solutions in security and professional communication. Building on decades of Bosch quality and reliability, we deliver state-of-the-art solutions in video surveillance, intrusion detection, access control, and voice alarm systems, designed to protect people, buildings, and assets. Our professional audio and critical communications products include world-renowned brands such as Electro-Voice, Dynacord, RTS, and Telex. With a presence in more than 90 locations across over 50 countries, we combine a strong legacy of quality with a bold vision for innovation — shaping the future of communication, security, and manufacturing excellence.
As a leading Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider, we offer advanced manufacturing processes that ensure superior product quality. With three strategically positioned electronics contract manufacturing sites and a team of 1,400 associates, we offer the perfect balance of quality, flexibility and cost efficiency for your electronic products. From design to manufacturing, our general expertise delivers quality without compromise. Design and serial production, including SMT and THT technology as well as full module assembly—all under one roof. With our strategic production sites in Portugal, China, Mexico and Germany, as well as with our Munich headquarters, we offer the perfect balance of global reach and local presence. Our international setup ensures efficient component supply and optimized delivery with shorter lead times across key markets sectors for the production of both small and large quantities.
As an Optical Systems Manufacturing Engineer you will drive the manufacturing, tuning, validation, and continuous improvement of optical modules within an EMS environment. This role ensures robust, scalable processes for CMOS sensor assembly, lens and optical filter integration, and active alignment operations in an ISO 5 cleanroom setting, while collaborating cross-functionally to support successful product launches.
Responsibilities:
- Execute and support the assembly, tuning, and validation of CMOS-based optical modules and subassemblies.
- Perform focus, centering, tilt, and image quality adjustments based on process specifications and CTQs.
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of active alignment processes.
- Identify, document, and troubleshoot optical defects (e.g., contamination, shading, flare, blur, misalignment).
- Support functional verification in coordination with Quality and Test teams.
- Maintain ISO 5 cleanroom discipline (contamination control, gowning, material flow, environmental control).
- Develop and maintain process documentation (work instructions, control plans, visual standards, training materials).
- Participate in NPI builds, pilot runs, engineering changes, and process validations.
- Collaborate with equipment suppliers and internal teams on alignment, dispensing, curing, and troubleshooting.
- Drive initiatives to improve yield, reduce defects, and enhance process robustness.
What your profile should look like:
- Bachelor's degree in Physics, Photonics, Engineering Physics, Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in optical manufacturing, CMOS assembly, active alignment, or precision assembly in cleanroom environments.
- Experience in EMS environments and NPI processes is preferred.
- Exposure to optical product industrialization or process implementation is a strong plus.
- Intermediate English level (comfortable working with global teams and technical documentation).
Skills we are looking for:
- Strong understanding of optics and imaging fundamentals (CMOS sensors, lenses, filters).
- Knowledge of active alignment concepts (focus, tilt, centering, image quality).
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking (root cause analysis).
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and process-driven mindset.
- Ability to work effectively on the production floor with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of process control tools (CTQs, SPC, validation, defect tracking).
- Cleanroom discipline and high awareness of contamination control and ESD.
- Continuous improvement mindset (yield, efficiency, process robustness).
What set us apart? We design and manufacture our solutions in our own facilities across Europe, the Americas, and Asia, ensuring quality and innovation at every stage. In addition to our own products, we also offer contract manufacturing services, helping other companies bring their technology to life.
