As a member of the GL Solutions and Design team, the GL & Financial Close Analyst will support the design, execution, and continuous improvement of HP’s global General Ledger (GL) and financial close processes. This role contributes to key finance transformation initiatives within HP’s SAP S/4HANA environment, working alongside senior team members to deliver compliant, scalable, and reliable financial solutions. The position requires solid understanding of accounting processes, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to collaborate effectively across Finance, Controllership, and Digital Technology teams. This role is ideal for someone growing their expertise in SAP S/4HANA, financial close cycles, and enterprise process design. Key Responsibilities Design & Process Support
- Contribute to the design of GL and financial close (MEC/YEC) processes under guidance from senior SMEs.
- Support evaluation of new SAP capabilities (e.g., Group Reporting, Advanced Financial Closing) and help assess impact to HP’s existing processes.
- Assist in maintaining SAP enterprise data elements (company codes, ledgers, accounting principles, validation/substitution rules). Operational & Project Execution
- Participate in finance transformation projects by documenting requirements, preparing test cases, executing testing, and supporting deployments.
- Support creation and maintenance of documentation, including process maps, SOX controls, and training materials.
- Participate in system stabilization and issue resolution activities in partnership with Finance and Digital Technology teams. M&A; and Integration Support
- Assist in data preparation, mapping, and testing activities for M&A-related; integrations.
- Support senior team members in executing migration steps and validating outcomes. Controls, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure processes and documentation meet compliance requirements, including SOX and audit standards.
- Support evidence gathering and participate in control testing activities as needed. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Controllership, Finance, and Digital Technology teams to support smooth execution of close activities.
- Provide clear communication of issues, dependencies, and process impacts to relevant stakeholders. Profile Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in finance operations, GL, financial close, or SAP implementation/support.
- Hands‑on experience with SAP (preferably S/4HANA) in a finance context.
- Familiarity with financial close, consolidations, or reporting processes.
- Understanding of accounting principles and internal controls. Knowledge & Skills
- Strong analytical skills with ability to break down issues and propose solutions.
- Foundational understanding of SAP S/4HANA financial modules.
- Experience with process documentation and requirements definition.
- Clear communicator able to collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and learn quickly.
- Exposure to SOX controls and audit processes.
- Experience in automation, data analysis, or workflow tools. Impact & Scope

- Contributes to critical financial transformation programs that improve efficiency, compliance, and reporting quality.
