Factory Controller (Heroica Matamoros)

Job Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and manage the plant finance team, fostering a high‐performance culture and providing regular feedback and coaching. Oversee and manage all cost accounting activities, including standard cost setting, overhead absorption, variance analysis (material, labor, overhead), and inventory valuation. Lead period close, including financial statement reviews for assigned legal entities, and prepare and present timely operational performance reports focused on key metrics such as factory utilization, scrap and rework, manufacturing overhead, and inventory turns. Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for manufacturing operations, covering CAPEX, OPEX, and COGS. Ensure adherence to corporate accounting policies and establish robust internal controls within manufacturing and supply chain processes, especially regarding inventory and fixed assets. Act as a strategic financial consultant to Operations leadership, participating in decision‐making related to sourcing, capacity planning, make‐or‐buy decisions, and plant efficiency projects. Evaluate and justify significant CAPEX requests for factory expansion or equipment upgrades, calculating ROI and payback periods. Collaborate closely with Operations, Commercial, Accounting, and Finance teams to align policies and procedures, and assist with statutory & tax reporting. Demonstrate flexibility to work outside standard business hours to accommodate international meetings and time zones. Perform any other reasonable duties as directed by management. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 3–5 years as an Operations Controller or equivalent role within a general manufacturing environment. English proficiency required. Desired Characteristics CPA/MBA highly preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish. Expertise in IMMEX programs, material regulatory compliance, inventory and VAT (IVA) certification strongly required. Strong communication, influencing, and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively challenge and support senior non‐financial leaders. Highly analytical, with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable recommendations. Strong knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and A/P automation tools. Excellent analytical and problem‐solving skills. Proven ability to lead diverse teams and drive process improvements in a global environment. Ability to prioritize work when given multiple projects. Skills in change management, both in accepting change and leading change processes. Extensive PC & IT system skills: ERP systems, Excel, Word, IT architecture, and the ability to maintain those skills as technology changes.
