Role Description We are looking for an experienced professional in taxation with expertise in income tax compliance, tax reporting, and strategic tax planning. The Sr. Tax Specialist will ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations, manage tax liabilities, and optimize financial processes to support Mauser Packaging Solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of tax law provisions, financial records management, and ERP systems. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to analyze tax implications, oversee month-end tax processes, and implement improvements in tax compliance strategies. Responsibilities• Prepare and file tax payments correctly and in a timely manner, according to the deadlines established in the current tax provisions to avoid fines and surcharges. • Monitor compliance with tax obligations arising from having made offsets and/or credits of balances in favor in monthly and/or annual returns for optimization and reduction of tax payments. • Review the correct determination of the profit coefficient applicable to the corresponding year, it is calculated based on the annual return of the year for the correct application in the provisional payment. • Execute the effects of the tax planning determined by the Tax Department, applying the tax provisions determined in the tax planning, this improves the flow and financial information of the Group. • Prepare the necessary working papers for the presentation of the annual Income Tax return for the year. • Ensure thatthe deductible items meet each and every one of the requirements established in tax laws. • Coordinate, verify and verify the correct calculation of the salary tax, through random tests for the correct withholding of the Income Tax. • Review, together with the Tax Director, the payment of the monthly Value Added Tax based on the monthly collection (VAT caused) and payment to suppliers, (creditable VAT and VAT on imports) so as not to generate excessive VAT payments. • Attend to external auditors, responding to their tax requirements to avoid observations or any contingency that affects the company. • Plan based on provisional payments and in order to avoid early payment of taxes, requesting the reduction of provisional ISR payments to avoid generating unnecessary balances in favor. • Support in the recovery of balances in favor of VAT, meet requirements issued by the tax authority, prepare response briefs, submit refund requests, etc. • Support in the implementation of corporate restructuring of the group (merger of companies) to achieve adequate compliance with tax requirements so that the merger does not have tax effects. • Preparation of deferred taxes based on USGAAP and local IFRS. • Filling out corporate forms to report results from Mexico to the US. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Accountant or Business Administration equivalent experience • Academic Background: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field • Yearsof Experience: 5+ years of experience in tax-related roles, preferably in multinational companies • Software: ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Excel (intermediate to advanced level) • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of tax regulations, compliance processes, and financial reporting • EnglishLevel: B2- C1 (Practical functionality in an international business environment).
