Lead end-to-end finance for the Mexico manufacturing plant, serving as the primary finance business partner for the plant management team. Oversee plant financial operations, cost accounting, compliance, and reporting to support operational efficiency, profitability, and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
• Own monthly plant close, P&L;, balance sheet, and inventory reconciliations; prepare local statutory and management reports.
• Support dual GAAP reporting (U.S. GAAP/IFRS) and timely consolidation into North America books.
Cost Accounting & Profitability
• Manage standard cost, variance analysis (material/labor/overhead), and inventory valuation.
• Monitor plant KPIs (productivity, scrap, yield, OEE) and drive cost optimization initiatives to improve plant EBIT.
• Analyze margin drivers and support pricing/costing decisions for local production.
Compliance, Tax & USMCA
• Ensure adherence to local Mexican tax, labor, and customs regulations; support USMCA compliance for cross-border transactions.
• Maintain internal controls and SOX compliance for plant finance processes.
Working Capital & Operations
• Drive local working capital improvement (inventory turns, local receivables/payables) aligned with regional targets.
• Partner with plant operations, supply chain, and sales teams on budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning.
Process & Systems
• Support ERP (SAP/Oracle) maintenance, master data integrity, and plant-level system enhancements.
• Automate routine plant accounting tasks and support Power BI/Tableau dashboards for real-time operational visibility.
Team & Stakeholder Management
• Lead and develop a small on-site finance team (2–3 members: accounting, cost).
• Serve as key finance liaison between plant leadership, North America finance, and integral teams.
Qualifications
• 10+ years progressive finance experience, with 5+ years in manufacturing plant controller / cost accounting roles.
• Hands-on experience in multi-site manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• CPA (Mexico/U.S.) or equivalent accounting certification preferred.
• Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and Mexican local tax/customs rules; familiarity with USMCA a plus.
• Proficient in SAP/Oracle, Excel advanced, and basic BI tools (Power BI/Tableau).
• Strong business acumen and ability to translate financial data into operational insights.
• Bilingual: English/Spanish required; Mandarin a plus.
• Detail-oriented, process-driven, and able to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced plant environment.
