Senior Manager - Steam Turbine Repairs (Morelia)

Job Description Summary Perform the daily operations of Steam Turbine Repairs to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. Has significant input into priorities. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role. The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment. Roles and Responsibilities Manage an operation, business, unit, or part of a production facility in order to reach defined targets in quality, cost, delivery and safety. Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards. Team management of salaried employees (not including production supervisors who oversee hourly employees). Develop specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serve as best practice/quality resource. Have awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contribute towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility. Have in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; have working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market. Use judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Use technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Use multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions. Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explain difficult or sensitive information and work to build consensus. Develop persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, manufacturing, Industrial or related Engineering discipline. Significant experience in Manufacturing, Engineering & Operation Management, with a knowledge level comparable to a Master’s degree. Position will physically be at the Morelia Repair Center; hybrid or remote work is not allowed. Legal right to work in México. Will not sponsor individuals for legal permits or visas. Desired Characteristics Master’s degree. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills. Knowledge of steam rotor repair, impulse and reaction technologies. Knowledge of steam casings, blade carriers and diaphragms. Knowledge of high-speed balancing of turbine rotors and generator rotors. Knowledge of welding processes for repairing steam turbine components by welding.
