A Day in Your Life at MKS:The Security Manager oversees all physical security, asset protection, and risk‑mitigation operations for a high‑volume manufacturing campus in Nogales, Sonora. This role ensures the security of employees, protection of company assets, compliance with Mexican regulations, and alignment with corporate security standards. The manager leads local security personnel, coordinates with law enforcement, immigration and customs authorities, and implements programs that reduce operational, criminal, and cross‑border risks.You Will Make an Impact By:Physical Security & Facility ProtectionDevelop, implement, and maintain the site’s physical security program, including CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarm, and Visitor Management systems.Develop, implement, and maintain the site’s perimeter protection program, including fences, barriers, gates, turnstiles, locks, and keys programs.Develop, implement and maintain the site’s local procedures related to site access, visitor management, training and education on security matters, reporting incidents and other as defined by General Security.Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and security audits of buildings, production areas, warehouses, and loading docks.Facilitate self-assessment requirements and Global Security audits in accordance with the guidelines set forth in the Enterprise Procedure for Site Security and Site Security Manual.Oversee contracted guard force operations, including staffing, training, post orders, performance and collaborating with the vendor to ensure site requirements are met.2. Personnel Safety & Incident ResponseAssist the Site Emergency Manager in emergency response planning.Assist the Site Emergency Team and plan for security incident and crisis management.Assist in the coordination of drills and training for employees and supervisors.Assist the incident commander for security‑related events and maintain accurate incident reporting.Manage investigations involving theft, misconduct, safety violations, or external threats.3. Supply Chain & Cross‑Border SecurityOversee security of inbound/outbound logistics, including trailer sealing, chain‑of‑custody controls, and dock operations.Ensure compliance with CTPAT, OEA (Operador Económico Autorizado), and any corporate supply‑chain security standards.Monitor cargo‑theft trends and coordinate preventive measures with carriers and customs brokers.Support cross‑border shipments and ensure alignment with U.S. and Mexican customs requirements.5. Risk Management & IntelligenceMonitor local and regional security conditions, including crime trends, protests, cartel activity, and border‑area risks.Provide executive briefings and risk assessments to local and corporate leadership.6. Leadership & Stakeholder CoordinationManage and develop the security guard team, including any supervisors and contracted guards.Serve as the primary liaison with:Local and state police (Policía Municipal, Policía Estatal)National Guard (Guardia Nacional)Customs authorities (SAT, CBP)Industrial Park administrationCollaborate with functions on cross functional initiatives to include but not limited to Facilities, HR, Operations, EHS, and Legal.Skills You Bring:Bachelor’s degree in security management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or related field.5+ years of experience in corporate, industrial, or manufacturing security in Mexico.Strong knowledge of Mexican labor law, Protección Civil, and supply‑chain security programs (CTPAT/OEA).Experience managing guard forces and security technology systems.Ability to conduct investigations and write clear, defensible reports.Bilingual: Spanish (native/advanced) and English (proficient level).Preferred Skills: (Optional)Experience in maquiladora/IMMEX manufacturing environments.Experience with the U.S. Department of State, Overseas Security Advisory Committee (OSAC) chapterCertifications such as CPP, PSP, CPO, or equivalent.Familiarity with U.S.–Mexico border operations and customs processes.Experience working with multinational companies and cross‑border leadership teams.Possess U.S. Visa that would allow to enter the United States.Possess a U.S. Customs and Border Protection SENTRI status.Key CompetenciesStrong decision‑making under pressureHigh integrity and confidentialityExcellent communication and leadershipAnalytical mindset with risk‑based approachAbility to build relationships with authorities and external partnersGlobally, our policy is to recruit individuals from wide and diverse backgrounds.
