Job Description The Advanced Supplier Quality (ASQ) engineer ensures supplier quality and performance for all commodities as needed. The ASQ engineer must align all activities with corporate objectives for quality, cost, and delivery, while fostering collaboration and accountability.
Conduct on-site audits of supplier Quality Management Systems to verify compliance with ISO-9001 standards and corporate requirements.
Lead supplier APQP processes for critical new part numbers and projects, ensuring adherence to corporate timelines and quality standards.
Coordinate corrective actions for design and manufacturing issues during prototype, sample, and pilot builds.
Ensure all supplier quality activities support and reinforce corporate goals for operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and cost competitiveness.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using Six Sigma and other quality tools.
Minimum 5 years of experience in supplier quality or manufacturing engineering.
Expertise in PCB assembly processes and mechanical components (die casting, plastics) preferred.
Strong communication skills in English and Spanish.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP knowledge (Oracle, Fourth-Shift) is a plus.
Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including the ability to influence, negotiate, and drive performance across supplier and internal teams.
Commitment to upholding corporate values and achieving strategic objectives through supplier quality initiatives.
Delivers operational results that have impact on the immediate or short-term results (e.g., Plans and establishes goals and objectives for a team typically comprising of intermediate-level professionals and entry level professionals
Responsible for making improvements of processes, systems, or products to enhance performance of the job area and in the manufacturing processes for suppliers.
• Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within one job area
