- Software EngineeringResponsibilitiesMaintains focus on assuring the highest levels of quality of our Production SaaS solution.Investigates elevated technical issues and attempts to resolve them independently.Creates SQL queries to research causes of issues.Builds, maintains, and administers infrastructure for data using infrastructure and configuration as code.Supports any release to production using modern delivery methods via pipelines.Works on delivery roadmaps internally and externally with various stakeholders, involving development using various DevOps tools.Executes Root Cause Analysis on issues, culminating in a detailed understanding of what went wrong, why, and how to fix it permanently.Uses forensic troubleshooting tools and techniques to drive a detailed understanding of all issues.Interacts with Product Managers, DBAs, and Developers.Helps build a solutions repository that can be reused by others.Monitors SaaS application health and end‐user experience using Dynatrace and SentryOne.Possesses strong organizational, multi‐tasking, and prioritization skills.Supports and triages technical issues requiring the ability to understand and respond to customer requirements.Performs incident and service request ticket analysis and tracking, including decisions to escalate issues as needed.Follows all change management processes and requirements.Creates and edits standard operations procedures and other supporting documentation reflecting the current operational environment.Facilitates knowledge transfer.QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science and/or 5+ years of MSSQL database administration experience.Working knowledge of MSSQL, including replication, ActiveDirectory Availability Group, and Microsoft clustering.Advanced performance troubleshooting skill set (query performance, VM performance, monitoring tools such as SentryOne, Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, SysInternals suite tools like Process Monitor and Process Explorer). Experience working in an environment that develops and relies on DevOps tools like Terraform, Ansible, Git, and Azure DevOps pipelines.Hands‐on experience with scripting tools such as PowerShell to automate various processes.Advanced working experience with Azure (Database Services, Log Analytics, IaaS, PaaS). Proficient in database backup and recovery procedures.Typical requirement: a university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.Dependable, motivated, quick learner.Strong customer relations, documentation, and oral communication skills.Self‐motivated with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality; able to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.UST is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
